Now we have a translucent option for those who want absolutely zero pigment in their mineral sunscreen, but who also don’t want to sacrifice HEV (blue) light protection or deal with white cast.

The No-Show™ Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 by Colorescience® is an untinted sunscreen made with the same, patented EnviroScreen® Technology that we love in the Colorescience® Face Shield and Face Shield Flex (which are tinted sunscreens).

This untinted addition to the Colorescience® family protects from UVA and UVB rays with SPF 50 and PA++++ ratings. As such, it protects against infrared radiation (IR).

But the goodness doesn’t stop there. This sunscreen goes further to provide HEV light (i.e. blue light) protection from our device screens – a feature usually reserved for tinted options.

Added antioxidants also protect against free radicals from environmental pollutants. Yes – pollution can also contribute to signs of aging!

Hydrators keep the skin moisturized, without adding oiliness. Therefore, this untinted sunscreen is a perfect base layer before applying makeup.

Best of all, its all-mineral-based ingredients are safe enough that they can be used on the whole family, on all skin types and on any part of the body! The formula is hypoallergenic, paraben-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, sulfate-free, talc-free, fragrance-free, oil-free, non-comedogenic and even gluten-free.

This sunscreen resists water and sweat for up to 40 minutes. So, feel free to take it to the beach, or wear it while working out.

A few helpful things to know about this product:

Apply a nickel-sized amount of sunscreen for the face alone. That’s the length of two fingers when dispensing the product. Use more when applying this product to other parts of the body (including the neck).

Apply this product in one direction, preferably from the center of the face and towards the edges. Avoid rubbing this product back and forth or in circular motions.

This product should go on ‘set’ (i.e. semi-dried) moisturizer. It also needs a minute or two to set after being gently blended into the skin. Follow with makeup after it has set.

Be careful using this product around the eyes. It has not been ophthalmology tested.

While this product helps your skin stay hydrated, it helps to apply it over a base layer of moisturizer. This will help it spread more evenly on your skin.

Pro tip: you can blend this product with a tint of Face Shield or Face Shield Flex, to get the exact colour or saturation you need!

Lipochroman™ – similar to Vitamin-E, yet stronger, this ingredient is designed to protect against sun damage by fighting against specific types of free radical damage. It is also known as Dimethylmethoxy Chromanol.

Bisabolol – made of chamomile, this ingredient is used as a skin calmer and soother.

Infraguard – as the name sounds, this ingredient is designed to fight the aging effects of infrared radiation (IR) and blue (HEV) light. It contains a combination of antioxidants from tara tannins and organic sunflower sprouts. It is designed to work within the mitochondria of cells (the part that controls skin function). In a participant study, it resulted in firmer, denser skin than sunscreens without this ingredient. It achieved this by protecting the skin’s collagen.

Silver Ear mushroom extract – a hydrator that attracts water better than hyaluronic acid (HA), this plant-based ingredient helps your skin stay moisturized. It also offers antioxidant protection to defend against signs of aging.

Allantoin – a comfrey plant extract used to keep skin soft, moisturized and calmed. It can also support skin cell regeneration.

Caesalpinia Spinosa fruit pod extract – a skin moisturization defender, and an antioxidant.

Lecithin – a water-binder and emollient, used to condition and restore skin.
