Covid-19 Update

Dear clients and BC Laser family,

UPDATE MAY, 2020:

We are happy to announce that as of May 19, 2020, we have re-opened!

Our operating procedures have changed slightly, for your safety. You’ll notice that:

  • Staff will be wearing masks at all times.
  • We will limit the number of people allowed in the clinic at one time. This means we may ask you to wait in your car before your appointment. Call when you arrive, and we’ll let you know when it’s ok to come in.
  • Treatment rooms will be sanitized after patient visits.
  • We’ll leave our front door open, so you don’t have to touch the handles.
  • Hand sanitizer will be made available at the front desk.
  • We have installed screens on our front desk, to limit exposure.

Please continue to refrain from coming to our office for a period of 14 days if you are returning back to BC from any overseas travel, or if you are showing any symptoms of sickness.

We continue to offer skin care product orders through our new online store! Click here to shop. Free shipping over $75, or $6 flat rate across Canada! We do not ship outside of Canada.

UPDATE MARCH 20, 2020:

The doctors and staff of BC Laser and Skincare Clinic are here to meet the needs of all of our patients. But, as the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve at such a rapid pace, we are temporarily cancelling ALL NON-ESSENTIAL visits, including all cosmetic treatments and consultations, starting immediately.

We will remain open with a very reduced staff only for emergency patients. As always, we will be available via phone or email for any urgent issues or follow-up questions.

If you wish to book a consultation please call our office and we can arrange a virtual consultation with you, using our online telemedicine portal.

We are also still able to ship or prepare pick-up orders for our skin care products. Please call us to arrange orders: 604-580-2464. We have a strict protocol in place, and there will be social distancing during your pickup.

We thank you all for being accommodating and understanding as we reschedule appointments. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Take care, everybody!

As of March 16, 2020 we ask that you refrain from coming to the office for a period of 14 days if you are returning back to BC from any overseas travel past this date.

Contact us if you have flu-like symptoms. We are able to offer greater flexibility in cancellations and rescheduling with no penalties.

To keep you informed, we have been monitoring news of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) on a weekly and daily basis as the impact starts to be felt in British Columbia.

Our priority with this evolution is to ensure that our clients, patients and employees are supported and safe when coming to our office.

As a physician-run aesthetic clinic, hygiene and infection control as well as clinical protocols are part of our daily lives at Beautiful Canadian Laser and Skincare Clinic.

Our current staff protocols of hand washing multiple times a day, before and after patients, wearing and changing gloves after every patient, wiping down treatment beds and working surfaces continue to be utilized.

We have added multiple hand sanitizer stations in the waiting areas and treatment rooms for clients. The usual hand washing stations with medical grade hand soap are also in place in the bathrooms and cleansing areas.

As an added precaution to our normal thorough cleaning procedures we have added extra deep cleaning services for an added measures.

Temporarily we are utilizing paper cups for water for added comfort for our clients.

Patient traffic precautions

As our client we would encourage you to contact us if you are exhibiting any symptoms of flu, colds and the like as we are able to offer greater flexibility in cancellations and rescheduling with no penalties. This is both for your safety and for that of our staff and other clients. Clients in waiting room are being staggered for minimum contact with other people as well. It is also helpful to come to your appointment alone.

Employee precautions

All business related travel from the office has been restricted and as of March 16, 2020 all employees that travel out of the country for non essential travel have been asked to stay at home for 14 days as per Public Health Agency of Canada. As we always do, any employees that exhibit cold and flu like symptoms or illness, call in to the office and are asked to stay home. This policy will continue to be in place ongoing.

BC Centre for Disease Control and the Public Health Agency of Canada continue to maintain the low risk to Canadians and are at present trying to ensure that the spread of the disease is slowed down so as not to overwhelm our health care system.

What you can do daily to keep your community safe:

Stay at home if you’re sick. The number 1 way to keep the community germ “free” is to stay home when you notice any signs of feeling unwell.

Clean and wash your hands. Wash your hands with soapy water for at least 20 seconds. Washing your heads frequently is the TOP preventative measure. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands & wrists and rub them together until they feel dry. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Cover coughs and sneezes. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow. Throw used tissues in the trash. Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Make sure you are keeping your own personal belongings and work spaces clean (phones, keyboards, door handles, wallets, purses, steering wheels, keyboards, etc.). You would be amazed at how many germs you have on your phone if you are not disinfecting it on a regular basis.

Keep up your healthy habits. This means keep working out, getting sleep, drinking your water, and eating healthy. Additional stress and worry leads to a lowered immune system at a time when your immune system needs you.

Stay away from people 65+ or from those who you know are health challenged. Most of us will be okay but let us protect those more vulnerable in our society as much as we can.

There are a lot of unknowns at this time, but if we all do our part, we will get through this together. We will continue to remain open and monitor the situation on a daily basis as it evolves.

Conversations will not be cancelled
Relationships will not be cancelled
Love will not be cancelled
Songs will not be cancelled
Reading will not be cancelled
Self-care will not be cancelled
Hope will not be cancelled

May we lean into the good stuff that remains.
