Razor Bumps

Shaving / Razor Bump Treatment

Razor or shaving bumps is known as pseudofolliculitis in medical terms. It is a surface inflammation of the hair follicle. Small, round slightly elevated pus filled pustules form around the hair follicles. The affected areas are often uncomfortable and itching is common. Folliculitis is caused by many different types of organisms such as bacteria, fungi and yeast.

A good skin care regime is important in controlling folliculitis. It is also important how you shave. In many cases hair can be removed by laser eliminating the hair follicle and the chance of infection reoccurring.
