Fat Reduction with Lipodissolve
There are only 3 physicians in Canada (as of September 2005) that are fully accredited by the American Society of Aesthetic Lipodissolve. Please check their website at www.asal-meso.com to find a list of accredited physicians.
Dr Shah is trained in both Mesotherapy and in Lipodissolve.
What is Lipodissolve?
Lipodissolve is a treatment that can be used to remove stubborn pockets of fat such as double chins, rounded or saggy cheeks or jowls, neck, lower eye fat pads and other pockets of fat on the body such as love handles, thighs, backs of the arms and knees.
Lipodissolve is a procedure that evolved from Mesotherapy in which microinjections of FDA approved substances including phosphotidylcholine, which occurs naturally in the body, are injected directly into the fat to shrink the fat cells, essentially “dissolving” fat from unwanted areas.
How is Lipodissolve different from Mesotherapy
Lipodissolve differs from Mesotherapy in how deep the injections are placed, how much of the solution is injected, what is injected and the intervals between treatments. The main difference between the two procedures is that with Lipodissolve, it takes fewer treatments to achieve results and also that the substances used in lipodissolve are standardized.
Is Lipodissolve painful?
After the treatment, there is swelling and discomfort that peaks at about 48 hours after the treatment. Most people handle the discomfort with Tylenol.
How many treatments will it take?
Although this varies from person to person depending on how much fat is to be treated, most people see some results 4 weeks after the first treatment. The majority of people will need 1-4 treatments.
Does Lipodissolve work for everyone?
Although Lipodissolve works for everyone in that there is fat loss, how well it works for any particular individual depends on how well the medications used in Lipodissolve works on that person. Lipodissolve is a treatment for spot fat loss and not a treatment for weight loss. You will lose inches and will notice the difference.
How is Lipodissolve different from surgical procedures such as liposuction?
Lipodissolve is a non-surgical procedure and so involves no risk from general anesthesia and no risk of surgical complications. Lipodissolve requires little recovery time and clients can continue their daily activities without taking any time off. Also, because Lipodissolve removes the fat from the fat cell without destroying it like liposuction, clients get a more natural appearance.
