What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a non surgical face and neck treatment that uses ultrasound to lift and tone loose skin without any downtime.Ultherapy is unique because it specifically targets the foundation below the skin ,that is usually addressed by cosmetic surgery, without cutting or disrupting the surface skin. It also uses ultrasound to see precisely where the energy is delivered to the skin.
How does Ultherapy work?

Ultherapy stimulates the bodys natural renewal of existing collagen and creates new collagen. Collagen gives our skin its youthfulness and over time we lose collagen so Ultherapy jumpstarts your existing collagen and gives you new collagen as well.Ultherapy is an “uplift” not a facelift.
How is Ultherapy different from Lasers?
Lasers target more superficial skin layers, whilst Ultherapy addresses deeper skin layers and the foundation of the skin making lasers and ultherapy very compatible. We often use a combination of treatments to achieve optimal results. We have used Thermage and Ultherapy as a combination treatment for different facial areas as well as other combinations.
Is Ultherapy safe and am I a good candidate?
Ultherapy is FDA and Health Canada approved and many thousands of treatments have been performed worldwide. Ultrasound has been used in medicine for over 50 years and has a proven track record. A good candidate for Ultherapy is someone with skin that has “relaxed” to the point of looking and feeling less firm. Typically a candidate is a man or woman in the thirties and older who have sagging skin.
How long until I see results?
You will see an initial effect however, ultimate toning and lifting will take place over the following 2-3 months. This collagen building process takes time and further improvements can appear upto 6 months after the procedure.
Is the treatment painful?
To make the experience as comfortable and pleasant as possible we offer pain management that varies from patient to patient. Some people will only experience a mild discomfort when the energy is delivered whilst others experience more as the collagen is stimulated. Pain management is discussed with Dr Shah prior to any treatments.
